Brighouse Town reached the FA Cup second round for the first time in their history after beating Peterborough Northern Star 3-2, writes CONNOR CRAIG-JACKSON.

Goals from Jodie Redgrave (2) and Kay Bamford put Town 3-0 up at half-time, but Jodie Hopkins-Duckhouse and Georgia Coulson scored to set up a nervy second half, which Brighouse overcame to seal the win.

Guiseley Vixens’ FA Cup dream is over, however, with visiting Premier League North side Nottingham Forest edging them 1-0. Guiseley almost lead in the first half when Liv Thackeray’s shot cannoned back off the crossbar, but it was a second-half header from Forest’s Charlotte Broad that settled a close FA Cup contest.
