Robin Koch sends message to Leeds United supporters as he continues recovery from knee surgery

Leeds United defender Robin Koch has sent a message to supporters as he continues his recovery from knee surgery in early December.

The German international joined the Elland Road ranks in the summer transfer window from Bundesliga outfit Freiburg in a deal worth £13m with Marcelo Bielsa looking to bolster his defence ahead of the club's first top flight campaign in 16 years.

Koch limped off against Chelsea in the Premier League earlier this month, suffering knee ligament damage which required surgery in London in the days after the Stamford Bridge clash.

Leeds boss Bielsa revealed after he underwent the knife that the 24-year-old had been playing with the injury since the opening day defeat at Liverpool in September.

A clash with Blues striker Olivier Giroud, though, aggravated the issue in the capital leaving United no choice but to operate on the problem.

Koch has now taken to social media to update Whites fans as he continues his recovery away from the senior squad, aiming for a return to first team action in March next year.

"Hey guys... thanks, thanks, thanks for all your nice messages [in] the last [few] weeks," Koch wrote.
