Leeds United enjoyed a rather busy summer transfer window.

The likes of Brenden Aaronson, Tyler Adams and Luis Sinisterra are already catching the eye, and there is excitement aplenty surrounding Elland Road.

Here we round up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Leeds as the fallout from deadline day continues.

Brereton-Diaz interest continues

Leeds are said to be continuing their interest in Blackburn Rovers star Ben Brereton-Diaz.

The Whites enquired about the forward late in the summer window, but they were put off by Blackburn’s asking price of £15million plus add-ons.

A number of teams made offers the Chile international, in fact, but Rovers rejected the offers, and that’s despite the fact they could lose the forward for nothing next summer.

In any case, Football Insider claim Leeds will continue to keep tabs on Brereton-Diaz ahead of a possible move in January.

Rovers will likely have to accept a cut-price deal in the winter unless they really do want to lose their prize assett for free.

Gakpo chase detailed

Leeds are said to have come very close to signing target Cody Gakpo ahead of the deadline.

Phil Hay said on his podcast: “There was a point at which Leeds were under the impression that Southampton had effectively matched PSV’s valuation or were very close to it, so Leeds, from what I’m told, went in above Southampton’s valuation in the hope of killing the competition, getting the deal done, striking a quick agreement with PSV that meant Gakpo could be on the plane the following morning.

“From what I’m told as well, they were confident and optimistic that it was their offer that Gakpo wanted to accept it was that if he was coming to the Premier League, it was Elland Road that he wanted to move to.

“But PSV dug their heels in, decided that they weren’t going to accept either offer and also made it clear that there were no grounds for negotiation on that they were not going to have a change of heart they’re going to keep him, which they have.”
