A quick-witted family has bagged £1,000 in shopping vouchers after finding a pair of shoes hidden in Leeds.

Kellie Dawson, 40, and her daughters Georgia, 15 and Scarlett, 10, from Pudsey, came out on top in the hunt for the #quirkypair on Saturday.

Earlier this month Holbeck-based fashion retailer Joe Browns announced it would give shoppers the chance to win the vouchers by tasking them with finding a pair of shoes that had been hidden in the city.

A series cryptic clues were released on social media on Saturday, which Kellie and her daughters deciphered before spotting the shoes in a gold box in The Adelphi pub.

A spokeswoman from the company said: “We’re really pleased so many people got involved and it was all worth it to see the look on Kellie’s face when she spotted the shoes.”
