Thieves stole a £70,000 car from a home in Leeds and then used it to ram into a police vehicle.

It happened in the Lawnswood Vale area at about 4.15am on Thursday, January 2.

The stolen car was used to ram a police vehicle before a short chase.

The chase ended when the suspect crashed the car.

The suspect was arrested.

WYP's road policing unit shared the incident.

The team said: "Lawnswood Vale, Leeds. Stolen vehicle recovered from burglary, rammed police vehicle before a short pursuit ended with suspect crashing.

"1 in the cells and £70,000 of car will be returned to owner."
