A man is due to appear in court after a teenager's hand was chopped off in a machete attack in Swarcliffe.

The machete attack happened in Stanks Parade just after 9.30pm on Tuesday, April 13.

An 18-year-old man's hand had been completely severed.

He is receiving treatment in hospital but his condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

George Johns, aged 24, of Swarcliffe, has been charged with one count of conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm and one count of violent disorder in relation to the incident.
