Drug dealer hid skunk cannabis stash near to Churwell miniature railway line during woodland police chase

Akim Lynch was caught when police spotted him in a car fitted with false number plates being driven through Morley on January 26 last year.
Leeds Crown Court heard officers became suspicious when a check revealed the vehicle was registered to a property in Skegness.

Hide AdThey followed the Citreon onto Westwood Side, Churwell, before signalling for the driver to stop.
The car stopped on Ibbetson Oval and Lynch jumped out of the passenger side and ran into nearby woodland.
A police officer chased after him and could see that the defendant had a number of items in his hands.
As the officer was speaking to Lynch a mobile phone could be heard ringing in the background.

Hide AdThe area was searched and the phone was found wedged between two fence panels.
A bundle cash was found in a stream along with a second phone which had its battery removed.
Mr Holland said the area was searched further and three red Kurt Geiger bags containing skunk cannabis were found next to a miniature railway line.
Two boxes containing the class B drug were also found.
The phone contained an incriminating text message which read: "Good morning everyone. New flavours in today."

Hide AdMr Holland said the message went on to describe various grades of cannabis that were being offered for sale.
Lynch, 29, pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis with intent to supply.
He has previous convictions for possessing cannabis.
Sean Smith, mitigating, said Lynch pleaded guilty to the offence at an early stage.
Mr Smith said Lynch began dealing the drug partly to fund his own habit.
Judge Tom Bayliss QC jailed Lynch for eight months.
He said: "You were caught red handed with a very large quantity of skunk cannabis.
"I can't overlook this. There must be an immediate prison sentence."
