Flats and bungalows on a Moortown estate are being demolished after more than 50 years to make way for retirement apartments.
The Leeds Jewish Housing Association (LJHA) hopes to complete the work on the Queenshill estate, Moortown, by March 2011.

Community Centre in Stonegate Road, joining another set of apartments already on the site.

on the site, with the work due for completion in mid-July.
LJHA chief executive Sheila Saunders said: "This is a bitter-sweet moment for myself and for our tenants.

The state-of-the-art project is managed by Synergy Housing Solutions Ltd – part of the Chevin Housing Group – with a £4m grant from the Homes and Communities agency.
