Youngsters held the demonstration to save Quarry Park in Yeadon after Leeds City Council have removed all but one piece of the play equipment. The year was 1997 and Yeadon was a town with plenty to celebrate. A local firm treated its staff to a party to remember while a Yeadon family was celebrating a football pools windfall. Elsewhere the Carnival proved a hit while Benton Park had appointed a new headteacher. These photos celebrate 12 months in the life of the town. Do you recognise anyone?
