The tiers will be reviewed on December 16 and while local councils are pushing for Tier 2 restrictions, it will be the Government that has the final say. Rates across West Yorkshire are falling but there are some areas where rates remain high. These are the 15 areas with the highest coronavirus rates, listed from highest to lowest. The latest figures, which are for the seven days to December 9, are based on tests carried out in laboratories (pillar one of the Government’s testing programme) and in the wider community (pillar two). The rate is expressed as the new number of new cases per 100,000 population. Pictures are for illustrative purposes only.
